'AS IS' v 'PREPARED'

BELOW IS A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT WE CAN DO TO VEHICLES

The options

AS IS: 

This is when a vehicle or machine is sold in exactly the same condition as it was received into stock, we will undertake the following at the point of sale:

 

Workshop Check: 

This is to make sure that the vehicle or machine is safe and that it runs, operates and starts and stops safely.


We DO NOT untertake any servicing, repair or painting of the vehicle unless the customer requires it at which point we will quote for work to be done.



 

PREPARED: 

This is when a vehicle or machine undergoes the following preparation* which generally includes the following at the point of sale: 

 

Workshop Check: 

This is to make sure that the vehicle or machine is safe and that it runs, operates and starts and stops safely.


Full servicing: 

Our workshops & trained engineers will go through a checklist of items with any faults being rectified where possible. Inspection/Job sheets are recorded for each item and work undertaken including:


  • engine service
  • transmission operation check
  • axle fluid levels check
  • brakes visual check
  • steering 
  • oils, lubricants and fluids will be checked and replaced where necessary
  • electrical and cooling systems checked 

Prep & Paint:  

Preparation and repainting  to the customers choice in specified single RAL colour.

Notes:
Sometimes vehicles are prepared for stock or are in as new condition (new/old stock) in which case we only quote one price.  We can MoT some smaller cars but not unfortunately the larger vehicles and we do not register vehicles, we do however provide paperwork to allow buyers to register with the DVLA.  New or unused vehicles like Range Rovers generally need the buyer to arrange an IVA.
* Preperation is not the same as refurbishment, we do not dismantle vehicles and undertake nut and bolt type ‘restorations’
